The Gurkha Black Dragon Edicion Especial... $1,150 per stick, that's $115,000 per box of 100, is likely to be a cigar I will never sample.
At $115,000 per box the Gurkha Black Dragon Edicion Especial is the world's most expensive cigar... and consequently the most exclusive.
However, five well-heeled individuals will be able to buy a box of these extremely exclusive cigars. That's because only five boxes will be made for a total of 500 sticks. The 7-1/2" x 52 dark maduro Gurkha Black Dragon is handcrafted in Honduras with a Connecticut maduro wrapper from a vintage 1990 crop, a 15-year-old Cameroon binder, and a 12-year-old Dominican filler. Only 500 cigars passed the final inspection, and those 500 were then aged for 10 years to give them a smooth, slightly spicy flavor.
The Gurkha line is well known as much for its great cigars, as for its incredible presentation and the Black Dragons are no different... the presentation box, hand crafted in India, is covered with intricately carved, 80 year old camel bone, giving it a patina of ages gone by. Solid brass hardware brings an ornate detail to its distinction.
