Comments: This cigar comes from the 260 year old Graycliff Hotel, Restaurant, and Cigar Factory in Nassau, Bahamas. Graycliff has a long and illustrious history and reputation for the finest in everything it does and as such my expectations for this cigar were high. I was not disappointed. As seen in the image above, the cap had a small flaw, but I was going to cut that off anyway. It was my only complaint and a small one at that. The wrapper was attractive with an oily sheen to it, having the appearance of a well made cigar. The first couple of draws on this stick were almost too easy causing me to think I may be in for a hot, fast smoke. Not to fear, the cigar burned cool and even, with the burn time expected of a smoke of this length, producing a dark gray, sturdy ash. The flavor was a nicely spiced, very smooth, medium body of wood and leather building to a satisfying powerful finish. I kinda wished it was a couple inches longer...
History: (From Perelman's Pocket Cyclopedia of Cigars, 2006) This is the second Graycliff brand best-known as the "Blue Label." It has rich flavor and aroma with a full bodied taste. It is offered in cedar packs and boxes of five or 25. The Big Bamboo is offered in both straight-sided and torpedo shapes. Handmade in Nassau, Bahamas. Synquest's note: Perelman's lists the filler tobaccos as Brazil, Honduras, Nicaragua, but the Graycliff web site lists them as Brazil, Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua. Handmade in Dominican Republic.
